We are seeking an experienced Software Sales Engineer to be based in the NY Metropolitan Area.
The Enterprise Software Sales Engineer will be responsible for all technical aspects during the sales cycle as well as helping to ensure customer satisfaction. This individual will be an essential part of the sales organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical qualification of customer environments
- Technical portions of customer presentations
- Product demonstrations
- Proofs of Concept / Evaluations
- Technical portions of RFPs/RFQs
- Communication with R&D on issues found in the field as well as customer feedback
- Partnering with sales reps throughout the sales lifecycle in a team approach
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working as a Pre-Sales Engineer, ideally for an enterprise software platform or middleware company (e.g. BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, Tibco). Responsibilities must have included all technical aspects of the sales cycle (including POC’s)
- Possesses a deep understanding of application servers, JAVA concepts & methodologies (JAVA programming a plus), operating systems, technical platforms/architecture, IDEs such as Eclipse, and the application lifecycle.
- Must be able to present self in a professional manner and possess excellent presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of demonstrating software tool solutions and executing successful proofs of concept to enterprise prospects
- Domain experience in financial services and/or utilities
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
BS in Computer Science. 7+ years in relevant positions with software companies.
